David Ferreira (*2000) is a young Swiss tenor whose versatility spans oratorio, art song, and opera. He has performed as a soloist and ensemble member in Switzerland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Bulgaria, collaborating with conductors such as Ton Koopman, Peter Kooij, Marc Kissoczy, Rodolfo Fischer, Dieter Wagner, and Natacha Casagrande. He has appeared as a soloist with professional orchestras including the Argovia Philharmonic and the Orchestre Baroque du Léman.

Together with pianist Alexandra Kastkina, he founded the Herzentwei Duo, taking part in various programs and masterclasses across Europe. The duo has given private recitals at the Hombissalon and for the Association Liedrezital Zürich.
David is also a co-founder of the opera association “ahimè!” in Basel, together with singers Tamina Biber and Julian Schmidlin. This association provides young artists with a platform to perform, gain stage experience, and explore the organizational and entrepreneurial aspects of music-making. He organized and performed in two productions: Handel’s Rodelinda (2023) and Jonathan Dove’s The Enchanted Pig (2025).

David has also had the opportunity to work with world-renowned artists such as Anne Sofie von Otter, Robert Holl, Margreet Honig, Elly Ameling, Christine Schäfer, and François Le Roux. In 2023, he was awarded the Friedl-Wald Scholarship.
His repertoire ranges from Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine through Bach’s Evangelist and tenor parts in cantatas and passions, continuing with Mozart’s and early bel canto lyrical roles, embracing Romantic art songs in German, English, French, Italian, and Russian, and extending to contemporary works by Luigi Nono, Ian Venables,and Jonathan Dove.

He began his vocal training in 2009 in Geneva as a member of the Maîtrise of the CPMDT under Magali Dami and Serge Ilg, performing in several productions at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. From 2015 to 2020, he studied privately with Jean-Luc Drompt at the CPMDT.
In 2023, David completed his Bachelor of Arts in Classical Singing at the Musikhochschule Basel (FHNW) under Isolde Siebert, and in 2025 obtained his Master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy with Werner Güra at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Specialized Performance (Soloist) to further refine his artistry and develop his professional career.
